Claudia I. Walters, 63, Plummer, Idaho
     Claudia Irene Walters, 63, of Plummer, Idaho, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, in Yuma, Ariz., from complications after surgery.
     A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Plummer bible Church on D Street in Plummer.
     Mrs. Walters was born in Orofino Oct. 27, 1939, to Ira and Goldie Centers.
     She married Albert R. Walters Dec. 18, 1959. After living in Lapwai for six years, they moved to Lewiston, where she ran a daycare and later worked for Omark. In 1978, they moved to Genesee, where she worked for the Past Time and Purgrow.
     In 1983, they moved to Chatcolet, Idaho, where they owned and ran the Bamboo Bar-N-Steak House. They retired to Plummer in 1993. In 1998, they started wintering in Wellton, Ariz.
     Claudia cherished the time she was able to spend with her husband, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed quilting, traveling, playing cards, canning, volunteering at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6790 and visiting with all of her friends in Arizona and Idaho.
     She is survived by her husband, Albert Walters, in Wellton; sons in Seattle, Wash., St. Maries, Idaho, and Kapol, Hawaii; a daughter in Lewiston; six grandchildren, and a sister in Orofino.
     A memorial fund has been set up in her name with the Ladies Auxiliary at the VFW Post 6790, 29389 West Oakland Ave., Wellton, AZ 85356.
