Don Simpson

     PENDLETON, Ore. -- Don Simpson, 80, of Pendleton, Ore., died Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, at St. Anthony Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the First Assembly of God Church in Pendleton. Pendleton Pioneer Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Don L. Simpson

     Don L. Simpson, 80, of Pendleton, Ore., went home to be with his heavenly father Monday, Dec. 26, 2011.
     Don was born Aug. 27, 1931, to Louis and Carrie Simpson in Orofino. He attended high school in Lewiston and served two years in the U.S. Navy, where he married on May 1, 1953, in Philadelphia. They were blessed with three daughters. Their marriage ended in divorce.
     Don lived most of his life in Lewiston and worked as a foreman on the paper machines for Potlatch Forests Inc. for over 30 years. He took early retirement from Potlatch in 1986, moved to Sacramento, Calif., and relocated to Pendleton in 1995 to be close to his daughter her family. Don enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling, tinkering with old cars, building and remodeling homes.
     Survivors include daughters; sister; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Laverne Eatmon; and brother Jack Simpson.
