Ada Viola Hesler, 70, retired beautician

     Ada Viola Hesler, a beautician and homemaker, died of cancer Friday at her Lewiston home. She was 70.
     She was born Jan. 27, 1917, at Weippe to William H. and Viola Simmons. She attended high schools at Lewiston, Orofino and Weippe. She lived in the Weippe-Fraiser area until 1930 when she moved to Orofino.
     She married Norman F. Hesler at Asotin Aug. 7, 1934. They moved back to Weippe that year and lived there until 1942. Mrs. Hesler worked as a cook for logging crews during the early years of their marriage. From 1942 to 1944, they lived at Richmond, Calif. They then moved to Lewiston, where they had lived since. She attended beauty school at Lewiston and graduated in 1946.
     She is survived by her husband at the family home at Lewiston; a daughter, Patty Hesler of Anchorage, Alaska; a brother, Howard Simmons of Spokane; and two sisters, Ruby Sullivan of Clarkston and Mabel Rubedew of Spokane.
     The funeral is 2 p.m. Monday at Malcom’s Brower-Wann Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gary McIntosh officiating under the auspices of the Pastoral Care Department at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Burial will be at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens at Lewiston.
     The family suggests memorials to Family Hospice, in care of St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.
